Privacy Policy

Last updated 8 October 2026

Clavis is an AI study assistant, available as a website and an Android app. This page explains what data Clavis handles, who processes it, and how you can have your account and data deleted. Jump to account deletion.

What we collect

  • Account details: your email address and name, or the profile details your Google or GitHub account shares when you sign in with it. Guest sessions (“Try without account”) create a temporary anonymous account with no email.
  • Your content: chats and messages, projects, uploaded files, and the study material (flashcards and quizzes) you generate. Incognito chats are not saved.
  • Course integrations you choose to connect: your Canvas/Studium address and access token, your calendar feed link, and the course material that is synced from them.
  • Preferences: settings such as your preferred name.

We do not sell your data and we do not show ads.

How it is used

Your data is used only to run Clavis: to sign you in, to store your chats and files, to answer your questions using your course material, and to build the flashcards and quizzes you ask for.

Who processes it

  • Appwrite hosts accounts, the database and file storage.
  • AI providers: the text of your messages, and the parts of your files and course material that are relevant to a question, are sent to the model provider that answers it: Groq, NVIDIA or Google, depending on the model you choose.
  • Web search: when you switch on web search, your search query is sent to DuckDuckGo.
  • Canvas / your calendar host: when you connect them, Clavis fetches your courses and events using the token or link you provide.

How long we keep it

Your data is kept until you delete it or ask us to delete your account. You can delete individual chats, projects, files and study sets inside the app at any time.

Delete your account and data

To delete your Clavis account, send a deletion request to hannes@lundstromslogiska.se from the email address you signed up with. If you signed in with Google or GitHub, use the email of that account. For a guest session, delete the chats you created in the app, or tell us roughly when you used it.

We will delete the following within 30 days of confirming the request is from you:

  • your account and profile,
  • all chats and messages, projects, and uploaded files,
  • your courses, synced course material, and generated flashcards and quizzes,
  • your saved Canvas token and calendar link.

Deleting your account cannot be undone. Copies in routine backups are removed when those backups expire. Any Canvas token you connected stays valid in Canvas until you revoke it there, so we recommend revoking it under your Canvas account settings.

You can also remove only your connected Canvas and calendar details yourself in Settings inside the app.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, for it to be corrected, or for it to be deleted. Use the same contact as for account deletion above. You can also complain to your national data protection authority.

Children

Clavis is intended for university students and is not directed at children under 13.
